My name is Jessica Morse, and tutoring is more than just a job. For me, it’s a passion! It’s incredibly fulfilling to have a job where I get to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s so rewarding to watch each student’s progress over time. I am a very upbeat person, and I absolutely love working with kids.
I have an associate’s degree in mathematics, and I am a current senior at UT Austin working toward a bachelor’s in astrophysics. After that, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in the field. My current, overall GPA is 3.92. I have been tutoring for many years and have a total of 2400+ hours of experience. I was an instructor at Mathnasium for two years (900+ hours) and worked with students of all ages from K-12. I also have 300+ hours of experience tutoring college algebra, pre-calculus, calculus I-III, and university physics I and II at Galveston College. I have been a private tutor for the past four years working with grades K-12 and have 1200+ hours of experience.
School is hard work, but I don’t believe that it has to be stressful. As a private tutor, I will take the burden off of you and your child’s shoulders by making the material easier to understand and helping your child to work through their homework quickly and efficiently.
Of course, I strive to help deepen each student’s understanding of mathematics and improve their grades, but this isn’t just about doing well in school; it’s so much deeper than that. When a child struggles in school, it can dramatically impact their overall level of confidence, which is often carried into adulthood. My goal is to not only help students better understand the subject and improve their grades, but also to empower them by giving them the skills they need to feel successful and boost their confidence and make learning more fun!
